Getting started

2. Click on Quick Order Guide.  Take a look at the sizing requirements for standard sized and optional oversized conversion inserts.  To determine if your insert is standard or over-sized, make a quick measure of your existing door.  It’s easily done from the outside, and does not need to be exact.  Check out options and standard features.  Call us if you have questions.
3. To select the right pet opening and rise, click on Pet Door Sizing Guide. Follow the suggestions for selecting the right sized pet opening and rise. Rise is your pets step over height from inside the home. Your patio doors frame thickness and carpet depth determines your actual rise. Note: after the Pet Door Design Conversion system is installed, most sliding patio doors offer between 5 and 7 inch's of rise. French rail doors with thicker bottom rails can add an additional 2-3 inch's. We offer additional Rise in 2 inch increments at +2 inch's or +4 Inch's.

Measure and Installation

1. Measuring for the conversion system takes just a few minutes. The installer notes the width, height and thickness of the existing glass, and makes a few notes about your door. It’s also a good time to confirm the pet opening and any options you may have selected.
2. We ship your conversion system to the installer. He’ll contact you for delivery and installation.
3. Installation takes just a few minutes. The existing glass is removed and stored in a safe place.
4. The Pet Door Design insert slips into the space created by removing the old glass. The unit is secured just like the existing glass. It is both solid and attractive. See the sequence below.
