It was shipped in perfect condition. The next day, I located a glass installer that works in the local area of our farm. He agreed to come out to remove the Pella glass and install the pet door glass. He arrived last Friday to perform the remove and replace. The installer was really surprised at the design of the pet door. He had never seem anything like it before. He also could not believe how nice of a design the pet door is and how easy it was to install in the existing frame. Bottom line, he was impressed and loved the way it looked. We began the removal of the Pella glass and within 30 minutes, we had the pet door glass installed and the complete door assembly installed in the track. Piece of cake. It was installed in my home in Mechanicsburg, PA, in July this past summer, and it has been a blessing. It has at times also been a challenge, as Bosley is an 11 month old Great Dane, and he believes that anything that can fit thru that door should go either inside or outside with him. He has taken pillows and blankets from the couch outside, and brought large sticks and chunks of dirt and rocks inside. It's working great. This winter has been much more comfortable now that the sliding door can be kept closed, no more cold drafts, and I know it will be helpful when summer comes around too. We have an enclosed patio with a pet door in the wall about 10 feet from our sliding glass door and we used to keep the sliding door propped open to allow any time access for our three cats. Even with the buffer zone of the patio, it could often feel like we were exposed directly to the elements. There isn't any insulation in the patio. The difference is like night & day. Plus, now we can keep the sliding glass door locked-shut (we were using a wooden dowel cut to length and inserted between the frame and the door as a stop to keep the door from opening wider than 9 or so inches). Money well spent. Highly recommended.
